Can I pay for my case with crowdfunding?

 

Yes, one option to pay for the costs associated with your case is to use crowdfunding. Crowdfunding enables you to raise funds for legal fees and costs via donations from friends, family and other supporters online.

 

Funds raised can pay for some or all of your legal costs and disbursements (such as court fees or expert reports), they can also be put towards paying any of the other side’s legal costs should you lose your case. A crowdfunding campaign can be run publicly through a community of online supporters, some sites will enable you to run your campaign privately where only those invited to your page can make a donation.

 

You can raise funds at any stage, from getting initial advice to paying for the costs of an appeal. Moreover, crowdfunding can be used for any kind of legal action, including inquests, environmental, planning, employment, immigration, judicial reviews, criminal defence and more.
