I am a child but the Home Office says I am an adult, can I challenge this?
Minors (under 18) are generally not detained by the Home Office, and are only detained with family members. There are many cases, however, when the Home Office wrongly decides that a child is an adult, and detains them. Having your age wrongly decided can also have an impact on your protection claim.
When we have evidence and instructions from a client that they are minors we can help them prove that they are under 18, and so should be treated as a minor.
