This category is closed to most sole representatives of overseas businesses. You may still apply under this category of you’re a sole representative employee of a overseas business who is a newspaper, news agency or broadcasting organisation posted on a long term assignment to the UK.
If you do not meet the above requirements and your company is looking to establish a presence in the UK, it may be possible for you to send a senior employee to the UK in order to establish your UK branch or subsidiary under the global mobility (Expansion Worker) visa instead.
Extend your visa
If you are already on this route, you can apply to extend your stay in the UK under a Representative of an Overseas Business visa. You must apply before your current visa expires.
Your partner or child’s visa will not automatically extend if you extend yours. If they do not extend their visa, it will be valid until its original end date.
Indefinite Leave to Remain
It is possible to apply for indefinite leave to remain after 5 years of holding a visa in this category.
Our business immigration team has extensive experience assisting with entry clearance and extension applications under the sole representative category.
