Two members of Duncan Lewis team discuss what International Women’s Day means to them and how everyone can help #embraceequity. Public law caseworker Rachel Flahaut and Social Media Executive Yasmin Ashraf sat down with videographer Jon Rist to open up about IWD and its continued importance. To coincide with this year’s theme of embracing equality, Rachel and Yasmin discuss the value of continuing to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history, while suggesting ways to remove the disadvantages facing women everywhere. Duncan Lewis remains committed to diversity, training and staff progression. Currently, 70% of our workforce is female and 50% BAME. Unlike most of the legal industry, 65% of our directors are female, with 45% BAME. Our hybrid working policies encourage diversity and our supportive environment remains as such for the whole, reflecting our client base, in turn enabling them to feel at ease when speaking about their case, which, thanks to our diverse workforce, they can do in more than 60 languages. Today we celebrate women’s achievements, while recognising that there is more to do to fully #embraceequity.
