We are pleased to announce that experienced solicitor Shazia Rana has joined Duncan Lewis Solicitors as a director in our highly regarded family and child care department.
Shazia, who has 10 years PQE, will supervise a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers alongside director Krina Parmar from our office in Milton Keynes.
Most recently she functioned as a senior associate solicitor department head at the Family Law Group, where she developed a broad practice in a range of family and child care matters.
Her specialisms include matters concerning: care, supervision, emergency protection orders, adoption matters, divorce proceedings, financial proceedings and special guardianship orders.
Shazia represents parents, family members and children within family and child care proceedings, is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and the Family Law Panel, as well as a member of Resolution.
Where possible Shazia undertakes all her own advocacy in all courts from magistrates’, county court and the High Court and has dealt with numerous complex and sensitive matters throughout her career, including sexual abuse cases, non-accidental injury cases, and cross jurisdiction cases.
She joins an extremely successful family and child care team covering Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Middlesex, which is ranked tier 1 by The Legal 500 guide. The team provides advice on a broad range of matters including domestic violence, complex divorce and separation cases, and financial settlements.
The Duncan Lewis’ large nationwide family team now comprises 17 directors, 69 solicitors and 69 caseworkers, embedded in 12 local offices, each with the capacity to assist clients from all backgrounds either face-to-face or remotely.
