Wellbeing is a core HR value; Duncan Lewis recognises that looking after the physical, mental and emotional health of our employees is the most important commitment it holds. It encompasses various factors such as job satisfaction, work-life balance and access to resources that support employee well-being. Some example of HR initiatives that support employee well-being include: • nFlexible working arrangements for a healthy work life balance, and designated HR generalist access for all pastoral needs • Duncan Lewis provides in-house designated Mental Health First-aiders (trained by Mental Health England) • Health & Wellbeing Employee Assistance Programme; including a confidential helpline (24 hours a day, 365 days a year), a confidential counselling service, support groups, and resources to help employees manage personal and work related issues. By prioritising employee well-being, we create a supportive and productive work environment where employees can develop personally and professionally. This leads to increased employee engagement, retention, and overall success at Duncan Lewis. As a recognised Disability Confident employer, we are proud to promote hybrid and flexible opportunities that are beneficial to all, and for disabled employees in particular. These working arrangements help us create an inclusive and supportive workplace that values the contribution of all employees. Duncan Lewis has significant experience providing a wide range of flexible working arrangements for our employees, ranging from working part-time, and both adjusted and compressed hours. At Duncan Lewis, we work with the employee and external providers, such as Access to Work, occupational health specialists and GPs to accommodate individual needs. On average, our HR team supports around 60 employees per year with adjustment requests. Employees will meet with their HR Generalist, online or in person, to discuss their unique requirements. Whether it is a change in the workplace, finding a different way to do something or operate a procedure to simply providing necessary equipment, additional services and support, Duncan Lewis is experienced in supporting its employees and workers. “Duncan Lewis care very much for their staff wellbeing. For example, I had a string of medical appointments recently, and my Director was flexible and helpful to ensure I could attend the appointments offered to me, which was really helpful.”
