Hello, I’m Aina Khan and I’m the head of the Islamic and Asian Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I would like to talk to you today about issues that arise when:

 

  • somebody has died without leaving a will or
  • if you have been financially dependent on them or

I have calls from people who are abroad, in many different parts of the world, who would like me to trace their assets in that country, which I do with my local agents and lawyers. Also from UK based clients. I can meet via Skype or in London. I can get the funding for you so you do not need to pay the legal fees, or for expenses like tracing the assets or valuing the jewellery. Finally, Islamic issues such as Polygamy and second wives are covered.

 

Emergencies like obtaining freezing orders - freezing bank accounts and houses and properties - are something I do personally in court. I do all this sensitively so if there’s any chance of settling this with the family, I much prefer to pick up the phone and do that, rather than go to court. Please let me know and I will advise you on whether you have a good case.
