Harassment

Sometimes, problems will arise in your neighbourhood despite your best efforts. When that happens, it is important that you handle them properly so that the problem does not escalate.

The main causes of neighbourhood disputes are boundary issues, anti-social behaviour, harassment and criminal activity.

Being the victim of harassment can be very distressing, especially if the harassment is from your landlord, and there is help available should you be in this position.

Your landlord may believe that they have the right to visit the property you are renting from them without warning. This is not the case: if they persistently do this, and in doing so behave in a threatening or alarming way, you may be the victim of harassment.

It can be difficult to stand up to your landlord, but there are remedies available through the courts which can prevent them from abusing their position in order to harass you. If this has happened to you, Duncan Lewis housing solicitors may be able to help you apply to the courts for an injunction to prevent the harassment from continuing.
