I am a Caseworker at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I joined the firm’s claims against public authorities and inquests department in February 2023.
As a caseworker, I assist in claims against the police, Ministry of Justice, the Home Office and other public bodies, where there has been a breach of human rights, misfeasance, negligence, false imprisonment or assault and battery among others. I also act on behalf of bereaved families in inquests. I am able to assist a range of clients who not only receive legal aid but also clients who are privately funded. My aim is to ensure that all public authorities uphold their duties and are held to account for any wrongdoing.
I started my career shortly after graduating from my Masters in Law where I studied in depth negligence within corporate entities. Alongside my MLaw I started my Legal Practice Course which I am currently completing with a view to later qualifying as a solicitor. I have experience in leading successful client projects and working on a range of technical legal matters. During my studies, I took on a pro-bono role with the University of Northumbria Law Clinic, where I assisted clients with matters such as providing advice on restructuring businesses and contractual rights with the aim of obtaining compensation for my clients. I bring this experience and my range of skills and knowledge to my role at with Duncan Lewis.
I work with my colleagues and my supervisor Courtney Smith at Duncan Lewis Solicitors where we collaboratively take cases on and work together as a team in order to achieve the best possible outcome for each and every client.
