Rachael Thacker

I am a Caseworker in the Actions Against Public Authorities Department in Newcastle. Joining the Newcastle team has been a great opportunity to apply my experience in the charity sector to now directly help people with their cases. Additionally, I am excited to work with the team on a range of cases, including complaints and civil claims against various public bodies such as police forces, the Home Office, the Ministry of Justice, local authorities and public bodies.

Prior to joining the firm I volunteered with the charity INQUEST, as part of their Projects and Campaigns team. My responsibilities in this role included monitoring changes to policy and helping facilitate community groups with bereaved families navigating the inquest legal system.

I graduated with an LLB from the University of Bristol in 2023. My time studying provided me with a variety of experiences such as providing research to their Human Rights Implementation Centre, and inspired me to do an Internship in Texas. I am committed to helping protect the rights of individuals and look forward to developing my career with the team.
