I am a Consultant Solicitor in the Public Law & Immigration Department of Duncan Lewis Solicitors. As a public law solicitor in Immigration my work normally involves challenging decisions of the Secretary of State for the Home Department (Home Office) in the Courts by way of judicial review.
My public law experience involves but not limited to challenging decisions relating to:
- Human trafficking;
- Asylum certifications;
- Human Rights certification;
- EEA Nations refusals;
- Unlawful detention;
- Fitness to fly and;
- Urgent Removals
In addition, I am actively involved in securing my detained clients' release from detention on immigration bail. I act across a broad spectrum of immigration, asylum, human rights and nationality matters. Further, I conduct my own appeal advocacy at the First and Upper Tier Tribunal of the Immigration Asylum Chamber also, where required to do so, continue to represent clients through the appeal process in the Administrative Court (High Court) and the Court of Appeal.
I am an accredited Senior Caseworker (Level 2) of the Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme this means I have demonstrated the required level of knowledge and experience in this area of law as defined by the Law Society. Further, I hold an enhanced CRB check which enables me to represent vulnerable clients, in particular, minors and unaccompanied asylum seeking children in their asylum related matters.
Having assisted an untold amount of clients in the last 7 years, a great number detained and facing removals, I have built up an impressive reputation of obtaining results. I am a firm believer that the Government should not abuse an individual’s rights or make decisions affecting a person life without careful lawful consideration.
