It has been reported that millionaire hedge fund boss Pierre Lagrange is heading for one of the UK’s largest divorce payouts after he announced that he was gay. The 49-year-old former Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan trader claims that the separation was amicable and confirmed that divorce papers had been filed at the High Court. Mr Lagrange, who separated from his wife one year ago, recently sold the family home in Kensington Palace Gardens, west London for £90 million. The extravagant Grade II-listed property features an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
According to divorce experts, Mr Lagrange’s wife could receive up to half of his fortune, rendering it one of the UK's largest divorce settlements. Mr Lagrange was among the top 250 richest people in the UK; his personal wealth is estimated at £350 million. Mr Lagrange founded GLG investment and invested with footballers Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Gary Lineker, among many others, in a fund that financed the smash hit 2009 film, Avatar.
Mr Lagrange confirms that he is in a relationship with the designer, Mr L'Roubi, whom he met following his separation from his wife. Mr Lagrange is now the director of Mr L’Roubi’s company, Asked for Designs. Mr Lagrange's is said to have close links with the Conservative party. In 2005, his wife had provided £50,000 to the party and a further £100,000 nine weeks before the 2010 general election.
