A 25-year-old man from west London has pleaded guilty to three offences of fly tipping.
Malcolm Wayne Gibbons of Sipson Way, Sipson in west London was employed by a friend as a labourer at the time of the offences in June 2015.
He was paid by his friend’s business to lawfully dispose of three truckloads of waste from contracts in west London, but dumped the waste illegally – on two occasions in Trenches Lane and once in Pickford Drive at Iver in Buckinghamshire.
After an investigation, Gibbons was interviewed by Environment Enforcement Officers and admitted three offences of illegally dumping controlled waste.
The case was prosecuted by Buckinghamshire County Council working on behalf of the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire. The Waste Partnership launched the Illegal Dumping Costs campaign in October 2003 to combat illegal dumping and waste management offences in Buckinghamshire.
At High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, Gibbons was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work under a Community Order – and was also ordered to pay £500 towards clean-up and prosecution costs, as well as an £180 Criminal Court Charge and a £60 victim surcharge.
The Partnership has so far secured 504 convictions against individuals and companies for illegal dumping and related offences – on average, there is at least one conviction per week for fly tipping offences in Buckinghamshire.
