I am a Solicitor in the Public Law department based at Duncan Lewis' City of London office. I work under the supervision of director Bahar Ata.
I assist with the day-to-day progression of cases and third-party correspondence on a variety of immigration, asylum and human rights matters, including asylum appeals and judicial review challenges. My work has involved bringing challenges to the Secretary of State for the Home Department over unlawful deportation and detention, removals to unsafe countries that are not on the European Common List of Safe Countries of Origin, and unlawful revocation of Indefinite Leave to Remain and Citizenship.
I have experience in SIAC appeals, in a linked case involving three appellants. This has been a rather substantial matter involving my colleague Oskar Butcher, director Bahar Ata and consultant solicitor Nasir Ata, with the following Counsel instructed from Garden Court Chambers: Ed Grieves KC, Helen Foot, Grainne Mellon and Emma Fitzsimons.
Currently, I am assisting in two policy challenges, firstly over the use of inadequate accommodation for housing asylum seekers with disabilities and secondly over the decision by the Secretary of State to pause asylum cases of refugees served with Rwanda Notices of Intent, in spite of the AAA ruling by the Supreme Court.
