On occasions the complexity of Family and Children Law proceedings may require Court of Protection Applications to be made alongside each other or after the family application comes to an end. I have extensive experience of dealing with matters such as these. In the past I have represented parties where applications in relation to Forced Marriage Protection Orders have required parallel Court of Protection proceedings due to issues of capacity. The mentioned case required the court to determine issues in such a specialist and unique area of law that the case is currently waiting to be heard at the Court of Appeal for a full hearing to adjudicate on the issues raised.
I have also represented parties where the child has reached an age where an application for a Secure Accommodation order can no longer be made and as such court of protection proceedings are issued to deal with this aspect of placement. I have the expertise to deal with these dual areas of law in a diligent and sensitive manner.
