I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Housing Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I am based in the firm's City of London office where I work under the supervision of Director Dianne Cowie.
I assist clients, primarily tenants, who are eligible for legal aid funding in housing cases. I have experience in defending unlawful evictions and possession proceedings, homelessness and suitability of accommodation matters, judicial review and housing act appeals and assisting in claims for housing disrepair against councils, housing associations and private landlords.
I have a strong interest in cases with the Equality Act and disability discrimination elements. I have assisted in challenging discriminatory decisions by Local Authorities, and Equality Act counterclaims in possession proceedings.
I also attend Court duty to advise and advocate for individuals with no legal representation at the County Court, and I provide pro bono advice to housing clients referred by Citizens Advice Bureau.
I have passed the first stage of the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations and I am due to qualify as a Solicitor in 2025.
