Duncan Lewis is proud to be able to deliver a high standard of legal advice across a wide range of areas whilst conducting its business in a socially responsible manner. Our day to day practice highlights to us the growing severity of the unmet legal needs of the disadvantaged in the communities we serve, and we are responding to it.
We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Pro Bono Committee whose purpose will be to foster and encourage Pro Bono work and expand our community involvement. We aim to make Pro Bono work a key part of the practice of Duncan Lewis and to deliver an ever increasing amount of unremunerated legal services to individuals, organisations and communities in need. We hope to offer these services to those who cannot pay rather than to those who would rather not pay. We see Pro Bono work as a necessary complement to our other work, rather than a substitute for it.
It goes without saying that whether a client is privately paying, publicly funded, or assisted on a Pro Bono basis, he is still our client. Our high standards of professional competence and commitment do not vary depending on how we are being remunerated, or indeed on whether we will receive no remuneration at all.
We welcome referrals of Pro Bono work from all individuals and organisations. We cannot, of course, guarantee to assist on every occasion, but our Committee will do it’s utmost to stretch our resources to cover the unmet need. All referrals can be emailed to NaimR@duncanlewis.com or telephone Naim Rahman on 020 7275 2784.
We look forward to hearing from you.
