Duncan Lewis is delighted to have been Highly Commended for Legal Services at the Signature Awards in Birmingham on Friday.
The annual Signature Awards celebrates the best in business, finance and legal services across the Midlands, highlighting the efforts of those contenders that drive their organisations to excellence.
In singling out the company in the Highly Commended category, the judges acknowledged our dedication to providing exemplary legal services and commitment to delivering access to justice for all of our clients.
We remain especially proud of our extensive pro bono work which allows our teams to reach the most vulnerable in society; our family law team alone runs ten surgeries, giving free legal advice to Women’s Aid, The National FGM Clinic, CAB Enfield, Shelter, Solace Women’s Aid, Hestia, Not Beyond Redemption and many more.
The company has already been widely recognised for our pro bono services having won the pro bono award for Best Contribution by a Law Firm in 2022, with five short-listings this year already, including for Best Law Firm at both the Lexis Nexis and Modern Law awards.
As a company, Duncan Lewis continues to be a signatory to the Law Society Equality & Diversity Charter, and we are proud of our commitment to providing equal opportunities through our dedication to recruiting the most talented employees regardless of their protected characteristics and social background.
Currently, 73% of our workforce is female and 50% are Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic. The ethnic diversity of staff at Duncan Lewis positively influences our legal services; 60% of our workforce across the departments speak up to 70 languages, enabling the company to assist its equally diverse client base and reach minority groups.
We are also incredibly proud of the major contributions made by the talented team at Duncan Lewis to delivering first-class legal services, upholding the rule of law, and challenging wrongful government decisions.
A team of representatives from Duncan Lewis, led by CEO Shany Gupta, accepted the award at the prestigious black tie event in Birmingham on Friday (10 February) night.
