Meena Kumari, a director of family and childcare at Duncan Lewis, has been quoted in Eastern Eye talking about the role that social media is playing in family law cases. She warns that social media is being increasingly used to prove or disprove claims against the other party, and that those involved should be aware of the risks of using social media. She comments: ‘“In divorce cases [social media] has been used to corroborate additional assets and lifestyle. In domestic abuse, it has been used to prove the behaviour of a perpetrator. In cases concerning children it has affirmed the relationship with children and the unhealthy lifestyle of the parents.”’
