Sheroy was interviewed live on BBC Persia discussing the violent attack on a young asylum seeker in Croydon over the weekend. He commented that it is important the Home Office take into account the added physical and mental vulnerabilities of this child following the assault when investigating and dealing with the aftermath of the incident. He further added that the prevalence of anti-immigrant rhetoric, particularly that of the British government, is undoubtedly creating hostility between communities within the UK and creating a culture that spurs hate crimes of this nature.
