Head of Duncan Lewis’ Islamic Law department Aina Khan was quoted in the SeekersHub article “Unregistered Marriages: A Muslim Concern”. The article discusses the issue that can affect many Muslims in the UK: that of unregistered marriages.
Aina Khan was quoted in the article, offering the statistic;
“80% of Muslim couples under the age of 40 in the UK have not registered their marriages under civil law, while 80% of UK mosques are not registering the Islamic marriages conducted under their auspices.”
