Jemma Gates

I am a Solicitor in the Child Care department at Duncan Lewis based in Milton Keynes. I advise and assist clients across Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.

I have been working in family law since 2015 and I qualified as a Solicitor in 2019. I specialise in representing parents in both public law and private law children matters. I have experience in handling both publicly funded and privately funded matters. I am experienced in assisting clients to obtain legal aid where eligible to fund their case.

I have experience of advising and assisting clients in respect of Domestic Abuse proceedings including warning letters, Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders. I also have experience assisting clients with divorce and financial matters arising from divorce.

I have experience of working with vulnerable individuals, including those who require the assistance of an intermediary or an advocate.

I approach my cases with empathy and seek to support each client through their case, providing clear and concise advice. I am able to provide advice and assistance to clients both in person at our office or via remote means. Where possible I undertake my own advocacy to ensure continuity for my clients.
