Jemma Gates

I am a Solicitor and Supervisor in our Milton Keynes Office. I have experience working in Family and Children Law proceedings for the past 8 years and in particular I specialise in proceedings in respect of children and domestic abuse.
I have experience in obtaining Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders to protect victims and the children on the family from further harm. I appreciate the sensitive natures of these proceedings and I am able to assist and advise clients through this process and represent them at Hearings in respect of these applications.
I also have significant experience of dealing with issues of domestic abuse within children matters including considering whether Fact Finding Hearings are required in respect of the allegations. I understand the emotional impact these proceedings have upon clients and I ensure that I advise and assist clients throughout the process with compassion. I also ensure that clients are aware of special measures that are available to assist with them engaging in Hearings and request these from the Court where needed.
I have significant knowledge of legal aid for domestic abuse matters and children matters. I am able to advise clients on the relevant criteria for funding and help clients through the process.
