A thirteen-year-old boy has suffered a head injury as the result of a collision with a car in Tilehurst. The teenager was conscious following the collision, but had sustained a head injury, and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Ambulance crews and Thames Valley Police were called to the scene, and both roads at the junction where the accident took place were closed for an investigation.
It has been reported that no arrests have been made and the driver of the car did not suffer any injuries.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently highlighted that teenagers between the ages of 10 and 19 frequently fall victim to road traffic accidents as passive victims, with road accidents being the biggest killer of teenagers worldwide.
