I am a Solicitor in the Child Care and Family Department based in our City of London office, specialising in public and private proceedings concerning children. I joined Duncan Lewis in December 2020 as a caseworker and qualified as a solicitor here in January 2024. I work under the supervision of Children Panel member, Sheena Vadher and Director, Alia Lewis.
I have assisted parents throughout the public law outline (PLO) process and have experience in public children (care) proceedings involving issues such as non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance misuse and mental health issues. I have represented clients in very high-conflict private child arrangements proceedings as well as proceedings involving the input of the local authority. I have acted for clients at all stages of proceedings, including at the Court of Appeal.
I am part of a specialist Autism and ADHD team, have received additional training on how best to manage cases featuring neurodiversity and have represented parents with significant learning difficulties throughout care proceedings.
I pride myself on having excellent client care and a diligent, robust but empathetic approach to advising my clients. I regularly represent my clients at court to ensure continuity of representation and maintain regular contact with them throughout proceedings so that they feel as supported as possible through what is often a very difficult time. I take time to get to know and understand my clients so that I can ensure I provide a high level of service to them.
