I am a Family and Child Care Solicitor in the Birmingham office and was appointed as a Supervisor in August 2022. I joined Duncan Lewis Solicitors in April 2016 and have excelled both personally and professionally.
Cases can be traumatic and difficult for everyone involved and I pride myself on the empathy and support that I provide my clients. I undertake my own advocacy, representing clients at the family court before district judges, circuit judges and the magistrates.
I have a great deal of experience in assisting sensitive and vulnerable clients as I am able to adapt to each case of any given manner whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Although I primarily deal with public and private law proceedings, my caseload consists of, but is not limited to:
- Care proceedings (Local Authority involvement)
- Private law proceedings (Applications for contact and residence)
- Emergency injunctions
- Forced marriage proceedings
- Divorce proceedings
- Financial proceedings
Over the years, I have gained significant experience in dealing with cases involving allegations of sexual abuse, female genital mutilation, non-accidental injuries, interlinked immigration issues and forced marriages. I have also represented parents in the High Court in wardship proceedings and child abduction matters.
Since joining Duncan Lewis Solicitors, I have built and maintained a positive rapport with clients and counsel specialising in the same area of law. I attend local refugees and other organisations in order to provide training, legal advice and my assistance on a monthly basis. I have voluntarily mentored students at the University of Law providing guidance, advice and support to those pursuing a career in law.
I am fluent in Punjabi and Urdu.
