I am a caseworker in the Public Law team at Duncan Lewis. I work under the direct supervision of Toufique Hossain, Director and Solicitor, and Maria Thomas, Solicitor.
I am new to the firm and the legal profession having only recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA Jurisprudence (comparable to a LLB Honours). Under the tutelage of Dr. Joanna Bell, a leading scholar of Public law, I developed a great interest and desire to work in the field. Duncan Lewis’ commitment to ‘giving the people a voice’ really resonated with my personal commitment to social justice and equality. The Public Law team, who work to hold decision makers accountable, is a good fit for my interests, skills and values.
Alongside my studies, I volunteered at the Oxford Legal Aid Clinic where I gained insight into the legal profession and the inner workings of legal aid and asylum cases. I volunteer with the organisation CARE4CALAIS. Through this I have seen the desperate need for solicitors, like the ones at Duncan Lewis, who are dedicated to helping the most vulnerable and underrepresented people. I am excited and incredibly grateful to begin my legal career here.
