Parliament has approved substantial rises to the yearly Immigration Health Surcharge, and applicants need to act swiftly to beat the extra costs. These increases are to come into effect within the next few weeks and no earlier than 6 February 2024. The UK Immigration Health Surcharge will increase to £1,035 yearly (from £624 yearly) per Main Applicant, including dependants. The discounted rate for students and child applicants (under 18) will increase to £776 yearly from £470 yearly before the rise.
The Immigration Health Surcharge is paid as part of various UK immigration applications, most importantly: entry clearance applications, in-country Extensions, and Leave to Remain applications, and is dependent on how much leave.
