I am a Caseworker in the Business and Private Immigration team at Duncan Lewis Solicitors' City of London office, working under the supervision of Director Vicash Ramkissoon. As a caseworker, I assist my team with the daily progression of cases and applications on a range of immigration matters; with the knowledge and skills I have developed from my 6 years of practising Law.
I have dealt with a diverse range of clientele and have a particular interest in cross jurisdictional legal issues through my experience of assisting NRIs with cases dealing with the Indian Legal system. At Duncan Lewis, I deal with business immigration, student and work visa applications, appeals, complex nationality matters ( including deprivation), domestic violence related immigration cases, private and family life, deportation and detention as well as asylum cases.
I have also had a lot of success in Domestic Violence and Divorce cases in Family Law. I was head of business immigration for the past 4 years and I have a strong practice advising clients under the Points Based System (PBS). I also specialise in all sponsorship licence matters and advise businesses on their immigration strategy and compliance issues including the Right to Work regulations.
I place great importance on giving back to the community and utilising my skills to help others. Therefore, I undertook pro bono work at the University of Westminster legal clinic, Panjab Radio and assisted in the Royal Courts of Justice and County court cases. I currently volunteer for Sikhs in Law, where I undertake pro bono work at their free legal advice clinics. I am also currently applying to become a Magistrate.
I am fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi and have conversational fluency in French. I am currently learning Arabic and Mandarin.
