Aleem Amin

I am a Caseworker in the Crime Department at Duncan Lewis, under the supervision of Director of Crime, Rubin Italia, having joined the firm in 2009.

Although I have experience in assisting with a broad range of criminal defence matters, my expertise is focused on my expertise is focused on representing clients that have been charged with serious crimes such as murder, large scale drug conspiracies, confiscation and serious sexual offences.

My meticulous case handling and preparation skills have notably resulted in many acquittals both in the higher and lower courts, and my wealth of experience in criminal litigation enables me to deal with those clients at high risk and those that are vulnerable, with a calm and professional manner.

Criminal Court

• R v S (Central Criminal Court) - Day to day handling - Representing a client who wass jointly charged with 3 others on relation to a Conspiracy to make and supply Articles for use in Fraud. The allegation involved the making and supplying of false certificates to gain employment as armed guard on merchant vessels. After successful represemtations of no case to answer the client was formally acquitted


• R v K (Central Criminal Court) - Day to day handling - Representing client accused of a multi million pound life assurance fraud where the prosecution alleged that bogus claims were made by the use of forged documents.


• R v A (Chelmsford Crown Court) - Day to day handling - Client accused of multiple counts of Mortgage Fraud totalling in excess of Litigator with conduct. Thereafter, successfullly reducing the client's benefit figure for Confiscation from £3.5million to £350k.


• R v B (Central Criminal Court) - Day to day handling - SOCA operation involving months of surveillance on a large drugs conspiracy to an alleged street value of between £6 - £9,000,000


• R v L (Central Criminal Court) - Day to day handling - "Operation Gifford Creek" - Representing a young man charged with two others for the murder of another possibly the prosecution have alleged for a drugs motive.


• R v E - (Southwark Crown Court) - Day to day handling - Multi Handed conspiracy to Defraud the NHS.


• R v Z (Southwark Crown Court) - Day to day handling - "Operation Gorgas" involving £250k multi handed Conspiracy to commit Criminal Damage (graffiti) of TFL tube trains.


• R v G – (Isleworth Crown Court) - Day to day handling - Client charged jointly in a £million fraud to defraud Leeds City College
