Sophie Burchett

I am a Solicitor within the firm's City and Luton offices, specialising in both public and private law children matters and representing children, parents, grandparents and extended family members in a wide range of matters. I am a member of the Law Society's Children Panel. I am also a Resolution trained Family Mediator (all issues).

I have extensive experience representing both parents and the subject child in applications for Adoption and Placement Orders, made both within ongoing care proceedings and as a stand-alone application. I also have experience representing both parents and children on applications for both permission to oppose, and on opposing an adoption order.

Legal aid is available in respect of such matters in certain circumstances and I am able to advise on and secure funding for the same.
