Acton Myles Afonso

I am a childcare solicitor based at the Duncan Lewis City of London office. I qualified as a solicitor in February 2023 after completing my training in family law and child care. As such all of my experience is in family law and it is an area I am very passionate about.

As a trainee and solicitor I have represented parents, husbands, wives and other family members in court proceedings including applications for care orders, special guardianship orders, child arrangement, specific issue and prohibited steps orders and divorce and financial remedy matters. I have also represented grandparents who have been granted permission and a contact order successfully.

Within proceedings I do enjoy undertaking my own advocacy where possible. I have a lot of empathy and can effectively manage sensitive matters involving physical and sexual abuse or neglect.

Outside court I am constantly advising, drafting letters and statements.
